Nearly seventy striking paintings and sculptures made of bronze, metal, and glass make up the new art exhibit, Two Ways of Seeing, by Jeremy Daniels, on display at the Red Cloud Opera House Art Gallery. The exhibit will be available for viewing through November 30. The public is invited to meet Daniels and preview his work at an artist’s reception on Saturday, October 15, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. The reception, which is free and open to the public, will be held prior to a tribute concert to John Denver by ‘An Evening’ at 7:30 p.m.

The work in this exhibit is part new ideas and part ideas derived from Jeremy’s travels over the past ten years. When asked how he would describe the exhibit, Daniels stated, “You will notice that my work is more about capturing my first impression of a place. I am trying to look at things that are familiar to me in a new way.” He says that he loves the process of experimenting with new genres and regularly re-evaluates his interpretation of his surroundings.

Artist Statement:

"I'm not always trying to reinvent myself, but I am constantly trying to create art in new ways. This show is part new ideas and part ideas from my travels over the past ten years or so. My sketch book images are from places I have experienced. Revisiting them in my mind wasn't as good as actually being there, but it has been fun to conjure up pleasant memories from the past, with the help of my sketch book.

You will see that my new ideas are not as labored or as detailed. They are more about my first impressions of things I've looked at all my life. I'm trying to look at what is familiar to me in a new way. I have always enjoyed moving from one genre to another. I like the process of experimenting. I am always hopeful that some of my work will invoke the "wow" reaction."
