Burlington Depot In 1913, when the Burlington and Missouri River railroad decided to remodel the 1897 depot structure, the businessmen of Red Cloud tried to persuade the railroad authorities to build a brick depot. Since this was not to be, they accepted plans for new frame additions to the wooden structure. The far east end was a 35-foot-long waiting room with settees and a tile floor; to the west was a men's room and beyond that the express, baggage, and freight rooms. The remodeled depot was painted an "Indian Red" with dark green trimmings.
