Willa Cather (1873–1947) stands among the most distinctive American novelists of the twentieth century. The author of twelve novels—including the enduring masterpieces My Ántonia, The Professor’s House, and Death Comes for the Archbishop—she transformed the literary landscape by illuminating the lives of ordinary people and revealing the depth, dignity, and significance of their inner worlds.
Join Los Angeles–based actors Linda Bisesti and Matt Reidy for an engaging reading of selections from Cather’s fiction, criticism, and correspondence.
The program will open with brief remarks by Peter Cipkowski, President of the Willa Cather Foundation, a professor at University of California, Los Angeles, and a part-time Hillsdale resident.
