"Here at Last Is An American Novel": Willa Cather's My Ántonia
My Ántonia's worldwide appeal is demonstrated by its translation into more than thirty languages. This exhibit examines the novel’s inspirations and creation and considers the ways the novel speaks to modern readers. Framing topics like immigration and assimilation, colonialism, class divisions and labor, rural life and the changing landscape, and even the #MeToo movement through historical context and audience-focused reflection prompts.
