Jim Owens

Jim joined the Willa Cather Foundation team in November 2019 as our new Sites Manager. He moved to Red Cloud in third grade, graduated from Red Cloud High School in 1981, and then returned about three years ago. He has worked in the construction field for almost forty years, and had a general contractor’s license for most of the twenty-five years he worked in the Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota region. Jim is in charge of maintaining our historic sites, overseeing all construction projects, and managing facilities staff. He enjoys working on his 1973 Buick Apollo in his spare time.
