Now Booking School and Group Tours For the Fall

Summer is in full-swing here in rural Nebraska, but it is not too early to start booking fall tours for schools or groups who want to learn more about Willa Cather and the town that inspired so much of her writing. Here at the National Willa Cather Center, we offer an array of guided tour configurations and activities for students and groups of any size.

Is your high school class writing an essay about My Ántonia? If so, our 7-Building Tour throughout the town will enrich student engagement with the novel and their respective writing projects. Interested in bringing a large group for a Country Tour? We can accommodate large bus loads for an immersive experience visiting more sites tucked away on the backroads of Webster county, including the Pavelka Farmstead, Catherton Cemetery, St. Stephenie’s Church (also known locally as the “Dane Church), and the George Cather Home.

Autumn is a great time for a Country Tour due to the mild weather since snow and rain can derail this tour in the winter or spring. Before or after guided tours, student and group visitors are also encouraged to experience our permanent exhibit, American Bittersweet, as well as take in the latest art exhibit in our gallery.

Rachel Olsen, our Education Specialist, schedules all group and student tours, and is happy to put together a custom itinerary for your group. As you prepare to book a school or group tour, you can find discounted rates for students and groups here.

Please contact Rachel at 402-746-2653 or rolsen@willacather.org to answer any questions you may have about our tour options or to book your tour today.
