Timothy W. Bintrim

Johnstown, PA

Tim Bintrim teaches first-year writing and American Literature at Saint Francis University, the alma mater of Charlie Schwab, the high-rolling "iron king" in "Paul's Case." He and his wife, Beth, have three adult daughters, five cats, and at least three large, messy gardens. He developed an appreciation for Cather's literature when he realized she was a devoted Pittsburgher for two decades and avoided paying rent for all but five of those years. He is passionate about the mission of the Foundation because he felt she provided an academic community when he desperately needed one: "She attracts the best people."
