Mark your calendars for this discussion with Jonis Agee about her book, The Bones of Paradise. This multigenerational family saga takes place shortly after the Wounded Knee Massacre, in the Nebraska Sandhills. Selected as One Book One Nebraska for 2022, the novel highlights the difficulties of settling a harsh environment while navigating the unpredictable people within it. About the Author

Jonis Agee was born and raised in Nebraska and Missouri, where many of her stories and novels are set. In all, she is the author of thirteen books, including five novels, five collections of short fiction, and two books of poetry. She's also the Adele Hall Professor of English at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she teaches creative writing and twentieth-century fiction. Agee's novels include The Weight of Dreams, South of Resurrection, Sweet Eyes, and The River Wife, which is about five generations of women who experience love, heartbreak, passion, and deceit against the backdrop of the nineteenth-century South. Her most recent novel, The Bones of Paradise, was selected as the 2022 One Book One Nebraska title by the Nebraska Center for the Book.
